Terms of service.
Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Unlevered. By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and the firm you represent.
The Service
Unlevered provides software for tax professionals to run cost segregation studies, including: engine-driven component classification, citation-backed allocation, engineer-of-record review, white-labeled client portals, and Stripe-mediated payment collection.
The Service is provided "as is" subject to availability targets in our SLA.
Accounts & eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of your firm. You’re responsible for activity in your account, for keeping credentials secure, and for the conduct of seats you invite.
Subscriptions & fees
The Service is offered as an annual platform-access subscription per CPA seat, plus a per-delivered-report fee. Specific dollar amounts are presented inside the trial dashboard. Subscriptions renew annually unless cancelled.
Refunds for annual seat fees are prorated on cancellation. Per-report fees on delivered studies are non-refundable.
Trial period
New firms receive a 7-day free trial with full access to the workspace. No credit card required to start. At trial end, accounts move to read-only mode unless upgraded.
Client data & engagement letters
You retain ownership of all client data, engagement letters, and delivered reports. Unlevered holds a limited license to process this data to provide the Service.
Engagement letters between your firm and your clients are between those parties. Unlevered is not a party to them.
Engineered review
Every delivered study passes Unlevered’s engineered review: an automated cost segregation engine modeled on licensed Professional Engineer methods and paired with an IRS audit agent, which independently re-computes each allocation and cross-checks it against IRS authorities before delivery. The methodology and the specific run that produced each study are documented in the audit trail attached to it. Your firm retains professional responsibility for the tax positions taken on the return.
Acceptable use
Use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in account suspension or termination.
Not tax advice
Unlevered provides software and engineered-review analysis. We are not your tax advisor, and the Service does not constitute tax, legal, or accounting advice. See the Disclaimer for the full Circular 230 notice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unlevered’s aggregate liability arising from or related to the Service is limited to the fees paid by your firm in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
Termination
You may cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these Terms, AUP violations, fraud, or non-payment. On termination, active drafts pause; delivered studies remain accessible to your clients.
Changes & governing law
We may update these Terms with at least 14 days’ notice for material changes. These Terms are governed by California law, with venue in San Francisco County.
